Assistant - Duration: Ongoing - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours,
days - Employment Type: Staff Work Schedule: /n 100% FTE, Monday-
Friday typically between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. No
weekends, holidays, or call. /n As an Advanced Practice Provider,
you'll play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by
providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. /n We are
seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to: /n /n -
Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients with acute and/or
chronic mental illness in inpatient and Emergency Department (ED)
settings. This includes the assessment of the patient’s
psychosocial, cognitive, developmental, and medical status. /n -
Develop recommendations for treatment and communicate with the
primary treatment team. /n - Work collaboratively with the ED and
inpatient medical/surgical teams, ED Mental Health Clinicians, and
sub-specialties including health psychology, AODA, and geriatrics.
/n - Provide Telepsychiatry consultation to East Madison Hospital
Emergency and Medical-Surgical Units. /n - See patients and family
members as needed for follow-up psychiatric care that can include
medication management, non-pharmacological treatment planning for
management of behaviors, bedside supportive therapy, collateral
information gathering, team treatment planning meetings, management
of acute agitation, and cognitive assessments /n /n Education: /n
Minimum – /n If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree
from accredited Nursing Program. /n If Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program. /n
Licenses and Certifications: /n Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or
PA licensure /n If Nurse Practitioner*: /n /n - Active RN and APRN
certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in
state(s) of practice AND /n - Active board certification as a NP in
area of clinical practice. These may include the following:
Psychiatric-Mental Health. /n /n If Physician Assistant*: /n /n -
Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of
practice AND /n - Active PA board certification /n - Specialization
degree in psychiatry (CAQ-PSY) /n /n All Nurse Practitioner and
Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or
ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire. /n *Active
license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of
practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other
