Medical Technologist Location: Madison, WI Agency: Lancesoft Inc. Pay: $2,100 to $2,300 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position Position Overview: Role: Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) Location: Madison, WI Tentative Start Date: March 23, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Night shift, 5x8 hours (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Monday–Friday with every other weekend required Hours per week: 40 Responsibilities: Perform routine to complex laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and urinalysis Apply specialized scientific and technical knowledge to ensure accurate and timely test results Conduct specimen preparation, accessioning, transport, and reporting Review and interpret quality control data to maintain testing accuracy Carry out advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution for laboratory equipment and processes Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently Take on teaching and training responsibilities for staff or students when needed Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of blood specimens and hazardous materials Follow transmission-based precautions and safety protocols in handling specimens Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and hospital policies Provide laboratory services for patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics Requirements Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of hospital laboratory experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology Associate’s degree acceptable for MLT with correct certification Certification: ASCP Medical Technologist OR MLS required Acceptable alternatives: ASCP MT, ASCP-MLS, ASCP-MLT, MLS, MLT Preferred Experience: Teaching hospital, trauma level I/II, Epic charting system Travel Requirement: Must live 50 miles away (locals not accepted)
