Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Office of the Registrar is seeking applicants for a Student Status Examiner Associate to oversee of the Degree Audit function, review and maintain student records; provide guidance to Office of the Registrar staff and serves as a source of information and liaison to all departments, chairs, and advisors concerning degree requirements and student degree completion. This is a full-time position that offers excellent employee benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. Responsibilities: The primary functions of the position are to perform degree audits, advise students or academic advisors on degree requirements/progress, and review and maintain student records. Maintain Academic Requirement Report Maintain accurate requirements for all majors and minors Provide consultation to students and academic advisors regarding degree evaluation/progress and university requirements and procedures Ensure degree requirement changes are communicated appropriately Perform final grades, honors and graduation checks Provide consultation to students regarding university academic clemency and academic standing/dismissal policies What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma and 3 years of relevant work experience (Associate's or Bachelor's degree may substitute for years of experience) Desire to learn and understand database systems Proficiency in the use of personal computers and current software applications (e.g Microsoft Office suite) Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels and be a positive contributor to a team environment Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Ability to interpret complex policies and procedures Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field Experience working in a Registrar's Office or Student Services in Higher Education Knowledge of university academic structure and basic concepts of student degree requirements Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information Experience with a Student Information Systems (e.g. PeopleSoft).
