Job Description As part of theMPT (Madison Peptide Therapeutics)Informaticsteam at AbbVie,you willsupport a proprietary peptide array platformand scientists using the platform by contributing to software innovation and tool development for scientific research.The ideal candidate will have a multidisciplinary background that can apply cheminformatics and web development skills to build and support digital tools thatempower our scientists and accelerate drug discovery.You will work closely with colleaguesin informatics, chemistry, andoperationsto design, implement, and deploysolutions to support researchefforts. Responsibilities: Develop web-basedapplicationsand command-line tools to support cheminformatics and data management workflows for scientific teams Write maintainable, efficient code (primarily python) and support deployment through Linux systems Collaborate with scientists to understand requirements and build custom informatics solutions Apply cheminformatics techniques for data analysis, visualization, and modeling Integrate web frameworks, database, and front-end interfaces as needed Document code,participatein code reviews, and support best practices in software engineering Deploy software tools with user documentation and provide training or support to scientists to ensure effective adoption and use Qualifications Required Bachelors degree (or equivalent education) in Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related field with typically 5 years of relevant experience; or aMastersdegree (or equivalent education) in Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related field with typically 2 years of relevant experience. Cross-training in Chemistry (for Computer Science majors) or in Computer Science (for Chemistry majors), or an equivalent combination. Strongproficiencyin python programming Hands-on experience in cheminformatics (e.g.RDKit) and applying it to scientific data Strong command-lineLinux skills Experience developing web applications Preferred Familiarity with software version control such as git Experience developinginFlask,FastAPI, Django,and/orStreamlit Front-end development experience (React, JavaScript) Experience with python data frameworks such asPolars, pandas, andMatplotlib Experiencewith Rust and/or R Additional Information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state orlocal law: The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Companybelieves ingood faith it will pay for this role at the timeof this posting based on the job grade for this position.Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, andwemay ultimatelypay more or less than the posted range.
