Start Date: ASAP About the Position Speech Language Pathologist
(SLP) Mauston, WI | Rehabilitation Therapy | Permanent | Full-Time
| Day Shift Job Description The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients
with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing
disorders in an acute and/or post-acute setting. The SLP develops
and implements individualized plans of care, documents all clinical
encounters, and provides education to patients, families, and
interdisciplinary team members to support safe and effective
communication and swallowing outcomes. This role plays a key part
in patient-centered rehabilitation, interdisciplinary
collaboration, and high-quality, evidence-based care. Schedule Day
Shift, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (80 hours per pay period) No weekend or
holiday rotation Key Responsibilities Assess and treat speech,
language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Complete comprehensive evaluations, develop plans of care, and
document progress notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
Educate patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff on
evaluation findings, treatment plans, and home care
recommendations. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses,
dietitians, rehab therapists, and other healthcare professionals to
coordinate care. Prepare for treatment sessions, provide patient
and family education, and support carryover of therapeutic
strategies. Conduct in-service presentations and staff education as
needed to support clinical best practices. Maintain cleanliness,
safety, and organization of treatment areas. Assist patients and
families in navigating hospital services and available resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership. Required
Qualifications & Skills Master s degree in Speech-Language
Pathology from an accredited program. Eligible for and able to
maintain a current Wisconsin SLP license. Valid driver s license
and current BLS certification. 1 year of experience preferred;
hospital experience is a plus, and new graduates will be
considered. Strong skills in clinical assessment, treatment
planning, and documentation. Intermediate computer proficiency,
including use of EMR systems. Excellent communication skills,
attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work
both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary
