Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least two years of experience, with strong EKG and telemetry competencies. Responsibilities - Position is based in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit - Care for patients with medical, surgical, and telemetry needs - May float to behavioral health, ED, ICU, and some post-procedural areas - Handles drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin - Every other weekend and holiday rotation required - Uses Epic EMR system; prior Epic experience is required - Will be responsible for all standard Med/Surg Tele nursing duties, including telemetry monitoring and administering specialized drips - May care for diverse patient populations and float to other acute care areas as needed - Required to work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving); limited time off allowed during peak holiday dates - De-escalation and NIHSS certificates may be completed during onboarding if not already obtained - Hospital or medical center experience will be prioritized during candidate selection - Returning employees may be ineligible if employed by the client within the previous 12 months Requirements - Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of 24 months recent Med/Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele experience required - Current AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required - Strong ability to read EKG/ECG, including rhythm strips and dysrhythmia interpretation - De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) highly preferred; can be obtained during onboarding - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate highly preferred; can be obtained during onboarding - Prior experience with heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin drips required - Med/Surg Tele-specific skills checklist required - Driver's license required for consideration - Professional reference from a supervisor or manager within the past 24 months preferred - First-time travelers accepted if minimum experience is met Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-665174.
