Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Marshfield, WI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,488 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Med Surg/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg/Tele RN - 7N Ortho/Uro/Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must have a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: 1-2 years acute care nursing experience Ability to titrate drips, including heparin, occasionally nitro, bivalirudin, cardizem, and insulin Description: The unit consists of 29 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights. Common diagnoses include ortho trauma (fractures, joint replacements), vascular (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy, heparin drips, and wound dressing changes), urology (TURP, TURBT, continuous bladder irrigation), neuro-spine (laminectomy, fusion, back pain), OB-GYN oncology (TAH/OBS), and acute medical cases. Telemetry technicians monitor patients 24/7, so RNs do not need to read strips. A charge nurse is present on all shifts and takes an assignment. There is a house supervisor on all shifts. Nursing assistants are available from 0630-1900 with ratios of 1:8-10, and from 1900-2300 with 2 CNAs on duty. During the 2300-0700 shift, 1 CNA is present. RNs have different responsibilities during the night shift compared to days regarding vital signs and activities of daily living. Respiratory therapy support is present, as well as equipment available for CPAP, BIPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy; no ventilators are used. No self-scheduling is available; block scheduling is facilitated based on staffing needs. Weekend and holiday requirements include every other weekend and holiday. RNs may be required to float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units. Scrubs are permitted in any color, provided that they are clean and professional. Unit-specific orientation includes 1 day of computer training and 1-2 days of precepted floor orientation. All clinicians must clock in and out while on duty.
