ICU/Critical Care RN in Marshfield, Wisconsin, 54449! Job Title:
ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU RN
- SICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Shifts Hours per Shift: 36
hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN
License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS; Preferred: TNCC & NIHSS
Must-Have: Experience with high acuity patient populations
Description: The ICU unit has 16 beds, with 2 additional procedural
beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2. Higher acuity
patients may require a 1:1 ratio. Medsurg or floor status patients
may have a ratio of 1:3. Common diagnoses include cardiovascular
surgery, traumas, and various surgical patients needing ICU care.
Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO is considered
beneficial. Nurses on this unit are responsible for immediate
postoperative heart patients. RNs are required to titrate
medications. Common titratable and set rate drips include
epinephrine, norepinephrine, and insulin. A charge nurse is
available on every shift. The nursing house supervisor is available
24/7. Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU around the clock.
Registered nurses monitor their own patients' telemetry and
document rhythm strips. Shifts range from 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to
0730. Staff self-schedule while also accommodating approved time
off. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holiday requirements include working every other holiday. During
scheduled shifts, staff may be called to assist if necessary.
Floating between units may occur as staffing needs arise. There is
no specific dress code, but cleanliness and professionalism are
expected. A one-day system onboarding is followed by two unit
orientation shifts. All clinicians must clock in and out at the
