Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per
Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Must have two years of
acute care experience within the last three years. Experience in
different Med/Surg units (cardiac, spine, neuro) is preferred.
License: Must have a valid nursing license or a compact license
from the permanent address state. Certifications: BLS must be
certified through the American Heart Association. Must-Have: Basic
Arrhythmia experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a
telemetry test prior to starting. Description: We are seeking a
Registered Nurse (RN) to float across multiple departments and
specialties. Caring for complex and dynamic patient populations,
you will work in a variety of medical and surgical general care
units and intermediate care units. You will provide high-quality,
evidence-based care. Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate
and assess patients, recognize and escalate complications, and
administer appropriate nursing interventions. Demonstrate a
commitment to patient and family-centered nursing care. Partner
with dynamic multidisciplinary teams including nurses, nursing
assistants, coordinated care roles, therapists, advanced practice
providers, and medical teams. Hone your interpersonal communication
skills and effectively delegate tasks as needed. Serve as a mentor
and role model with opportunities to precept new nurses and
students. Be involved in strategic planning efforts, quality
improvement, and shared governance. You may have shifts scheduled
in multiple units based on staffing needs. If the primary unit no
longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit to
complete the contract. Orientation will be approximately 20 hours.
You will need to comply with all competency requirements, including
telemetry competency on file. Pass/fail testing is required with
strict passing criteria, including a telemetry exam before
starting. You will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam.
Failure to pass the exam may result in contract cancellation.
Submit a certificate of completion for a cardiac interpretation
review course if needed before a third attempt.
