Manager drives the strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation of
all aspects of bank marketing in line with the global business
strategy of their assigned HTLF subsidiary bank and the over HTLF
organization. The Bank Marketing Leader serves as a key participant
in bank leadership's team, taking the lead in developing marketing
strategies for retention and growth of commercial and consumer
customers. The Bank Marketing Manager also works closely with the
HTLF Regional Marketing officer in their bank's region to leverage
HTLF Marketing resources and to ensure the bank's marketing
function is aligned with corporate strategies and
objectives.Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the assigned bank's local annual public
relations and marketing plans for individual bank markets. Works
with the Regional Marketing Officer to ensure bank plans are
aligned with HTLF Marketing and support national initiatives that
support corporate objectives to maximize profit and growth.
- Works with the Regional Marketing Officer to ensure
communication strategy is consistent and reflects the
organization's strategic vision.
- Serves as a key member of the bank's leadership team to ensure
alignment of activities around the bank's strategic priorities;
e.g., core deposit, loan and fee growth.
- Maintains a continual awareness of activities, promotions,
outreach efforts and products and services offered by local
competitors. Maintains competitor intelligence data, including
financial condition.
- Develops the bank's marketing and charitable giving budgets,
analyzes spend for desired objectives and ROI, and reports to
organization stakeholders.
- Drives the definition of project scope and objectives and
prioritizes projects in the context of the bank's strategic
plan.
- Develops, maintains and coordinates project schedules and
workflow to ensure marketing projects are completed on time and on
budget and that projects achieve planned results.
- Creates, implements and manages all internal and external
communications, including advertising, marketing collateral,
presentations, direct mail, press releases and inquiries, public
relations content and internal messaging.
- Manages the bank's brand and messaging in all markets:
- Establishes voice of the brand; develops and maintains
standards that ensure brand consistency through all marketing
channels; sets appropriate tone in all communications and provides
direction in brand output for the bank.
- Researches, creates and proofreads relevant and accurate
content for multiple marketing communication channels, including
social media, websites, promotional emails, newsletters, videos,
advertising, external editorial publications and other
marketing/communications pieces; ensures finished products are in
line with bank brand and desired look and feel.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and industry
self-regulatory standards.
- Develops and implements methods of accurately and regularly
assessing the effectiveness of tactics and measuring them against
the approved communication plan; provide regular reporting on
success of communications efforts.
- Coordinates events and community involvement from conception
through completion, including event logistics such as decor,
catering, invitee list, equipment, and many other needs. Serves as
the key liaison with vendors while monitoring event timelines to
ensure deadlines are met. Works with internal stakeholders to
assure proper attendance and represents the bank on-site as host
for events as needed.
- Provides administrative support to the regional marketing team
and sales team as necessary.
- Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it
relates to the job function.Qualifications
- Bachelors Business Administration/Management, Communications,
Finance, Marketing required
- Masters Business Administration/Management preferred
- 7-10 years of experience managing marketing, public relations,
and/or communications required
- Financial services marketing experience preferred
- Excellent organization and planning skills; time and project
management
- Excellent attention to detail, including strong writing,
editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes
demanding and challenging environment, while maintaining
perspective
- Ability to work alone or lead a team to get the job done,
manage the flow of projects, programs and processes necessary to
attract and retain customers to Heartland's member banks
- Leadership skills: team motivation, conflict resolution and
decision-making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM, MAP
and other applicable software applicationsScheduled Weekly
