Engineer - Enterprise Range (Onsite) The Air Combat Test & Training
(ACTT) Department within Mission Systems is committed to enhancing
training capability and realism, enabling U.S. warfighters and
international partners to “train like you fight.” Our ACTT
engineering team develops state-of-the-art cryptographic, datalink,
networking, and command and control systems that support threat and
weapon simulations. These advanced systems allow military pilots to
practice combat maneuvers in the air without the risks or cost
associated with firing live weapons. We specialize in designing
secure Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) systems,
guiding them from concept through accreditation, production, and
installation. What You Will Do: The ACTT Systems Engineering Teams
are looking for an experienced Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to
lead the expansion of our Air Combat Training Systems capabilities.
In this role you will guide the team in performing all aspects of
systems engineering design and development, including bidding,
requirements capture, system design, system integration, system
verification & validation testing, and support for certification
and qualification. Sr. Principal Systems Engineers also serve as
the primary customer interface for the development team. This
position is located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. What You Will
Learn: You will gain platform systems level experience on a complex
SoS program You will gain exposure to multiple key technologies You
will gain experience in multiple domains including networking,
cryptography, cross-domain solutions, and radios Complete ACTT
development lifecycle of planning, development, verification,
certification and product deployment Identify and manage program
technical risks and opportunities Leads complex pursuits, bidding
and planning of systems engineering effort Strong communication
behaviors with team members, internal stakeholders, and external
customers Managing multiple competing tasks while balancing
priorities Technical vision to champion change and innovation to
improve technical solutions and processes Utilizes Earned Value
(EV) methods to optimally manage project budget and schedule
Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in
Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum
10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a
related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a
degree, 14 years of relevant experience Active and transferable
U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required
prior to start date Must be able to travel up to 20% throughout the
year Recognized Master in at least one technical area and leading
others in that area Experience with leading a team to develop
complex system of systems requirements and test procedures
Qualifications We Prefer: Experience leading and mentoring in a
flexible, collaborative Agile development environment Strong
critical thinking and analytical skills Experience with air combat
or military training concepts of operations Experience with US
export regulations: International Traffic in Arms Regulations
(ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Advanced degree
in STEM, Management, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA)

251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several
