You will be optimizing the validation & verification of our products with a particular focus on software/controls. This includes architecting new approaches for emerging technologies as well as executing software verification across all John Deere Construction platforms. In addition, you will have the opportunity to:Analyze and approve software requirementsDesign test strategies, test plans, and test environmentsPlan, coordinate, and perform testing on the bench and on machineDevelop the automation environment, test vectors, and scripts for automated testingProvide team leadership for supporting domestic and internationally located engineersCoach and mentor early career software PV&V, systems, and embedded software engineersOwn the validation and verification activities for a functional area within the divisionWork with 3rd party partners in the development and testing of software solutionsWork with the stakeholders to resolve issues found during testingVISA Sponsorship is NOT Available for this positionWhat Skills You NeedDemonstratedproblem-solvingskills to analyze and solve technical problems, including troubleshooting software, electrical and/or mechanical issuesDemonstrated project leadership and decision makingDemonstrated teamwork skills working cross functionallyAbility to work in a self-directed modeAbility and willingness to travel up to 10% (both domestic and internationally)What Makes You Stand OutExperience with developing embedded software (design or test) including C/C++Experience with developing control systems (design or test) in MATLAB Simulink or similarExperience with electrical hardware, software, and their interaction with mechanical systemsExperience with machine vision, advanced imaging, camera systems, machine learning and/or artificial intelligenceExperience with automotive/aviation/off road mobile equipment software development (design or test)Experience in software testing, tools, and processes such as unit testing, HIL, SIL, black box, boundary conditions etc.Background in construction or agricultural equipment operationAdvanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentEducationIdeally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentWhat You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
