Director of Graduate and Continuing EducationPrograms (Available July 1, 2019) POSITION SUMMARY. Employer invitesapplications for a full-time Director of Graduate and ContinuingEducation programs. The Director will serve as the College'scoordinator of graduate and continuing education programming andparticipate in the overall planning, implementation, and assessmentof current and future graduate degrees, professional certificates,and continuing education programs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. An earned doctorateis preferred but other advanced degrees will be considered if thecandidate has the appropriate experience. The successful applicantwill ideally have experience with teaching graduate level coursesand oversight of at least one graduate program. Experience withdeveloping and launching new graduate programs is highly desired,as is the ability to teach in one of the graduate programs atLoras. Evidence of academic leadership experience, as well asachievement in teaching, scholarship and service. Proven leadershipeffectiveness, and track record of innovation in the identificationand implementation of academic programming. Ability to articulatethe principles of the Catholic intellectual tradition. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Encourages theidentification and development of potential graduate and continuingeducation programs within the respective divisions of the Collegeand the Noonan School of Business. Facilitates collaboration andintegration of services for graduate or continuing educationstudents across Academic Affairs, Student Development, andEnrollment Management areas. Promotes the planning andimplementation of a graduate culture on campus and facilitatesongoing communication with graduate students through a graduatestudent newsletter. Coordinates student focused activities such asnew student orientation and other programming for graduatestudents. Advises the Vice President of Academic Affairs on mattersrelating to graduate and continuing education programs. Chairs theGraduate Council and serves as a member of the College's StrategicPlanning Committee. Serves as liaison to Enrollment Management onmatters relating to the effective recruitment and retention ofstudents. Partners with Marketing to promote graduate andcontinuing education programs and the accomplishments of graduatestudents. Collaborates with the alumni office to support alumnioutreach and engagement. REQUIRED SKILLS. Knowledge of the principlesand practices involved in administration in a Catholic liberal artscollege. Strong organizational and interpersonal communicationskills, including the ability to present effective oralpresentations and written reports. Ability to establish andmaintain excellent social and working relationships with faculty,staff, and friends of the College. Ability to promote qualityteaching, academic planning, and faculty development. Ability toencourage scholarship and nurture collegiality. Entrepreneurialthinker and ability to motivate and to inspire. Skilled in the useof personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. THE COLLEGE. Founded in 1839, Employer isa Catholic, four-year, coeducational, liberal arts institution thatincludes pre-professional and career preparation and is dedicatedto high academic, ethical, and moral standards. The student bodyconsists of approximately 1,600 undergraduate and graduatestudents. THE COMMUNITY. Employer's 60 acre campusis located on one of Dubuque's highest bluffs, overlooking theMississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa, Illinoisand Wisconsin, about 3 hours west of Chicago.
