Communications department at Loras College announces a full-time
opening for Photographer/Videographer. This position will lead
visual storytelling, create engaging videos and photos, and bring
the Loras brand to life. This college-wide role requires an
individual with a collaborative mindset, commitment to inclusion,
excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for both photography
and videography.This position will plan and manage all aspects of
multimedia production using creative thinking, strong project
management skills, editing expertise, and a knowledge of the best
practices in photography and digital media for various platforms.
In addition, this person will be responsible for managing photo and
video equipment and developing and maintaining a digital asset
management system.Candidates should be able to work periodic
after-hours assignments (nights/weekends) to cover events.Essential
Functions include:
- Utilize the Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in Photoshop,
Premiere Pro, and After Effects for editing and motion graphics
creation
- Familiarity with all aspects of digital quality and output:
file size, light, and color balancing.
- Oversee all media requests providing photography, videography,
and live streaming services while performing the planning,
production, and post-production of photo/video shoots.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the marketing
department, as well as admission and alumni offices, to ensure
overarching goals are being achieved.
- On-location and studio photography skills including maintenance
of studio equipment.
- Experience operating drones for capturing photos and
videos.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work in
tight timeframes, as well as adapt to changing business needs and
deadlines.
- Experience with social media and production requirements for
multiple social media channels and a continuing understanding of
emerging visual communication methods and trends for their use in
social media.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. Bachelor's degree in
marketing, communication, media studies, photojournalism, or
related field is required. Minimum three years experience in
multimedia role.COMPENSATION. Commensurate with qualifications,
