Receptionists work at a fast pace on the computer, phones, and face-to-face as they assist with registration, check-in, insurance verification, and scheduling appointments.Must be very dependable and have outstanding communication skills. Our new receptionists receive formal computer and insurance training, work alongside a buddy until comfortable, and are always learning new things on the job. NOTE: Training does take place during weekday clinic hours (8 am-5 pm) so you must be flexible/availableto accommodate a few weeks at this schedule. Schedule: 2-3 evenings during the week from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and every other weekend from 7:45am - 5:00pm. Flexibility is required during the week as your schedule will be based on department scheduling needs. You will also need the flexibility to work additionalshifts to help out when needed. In addition to our competitive base wage, all shifts qualify for our excellent evening/weekend shift differential!!Hours: This position averages 35 hours per 2 week pay period. Minimal benefits included.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Schedule and coordinate multiple appointments.Communicate clearly with patients via telephone and in person and relay necessary messages to staff.General knowledge of basic insurance coverage and financial classes.Act as a resource to assure, mentor and teach best practices to teammates.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education: Equivalent to a high school education.Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience.Physical AspectsPhysical Aspects:Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction. Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that forSedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.Environmental Conditions: None - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
