strongly encouraged to apply.POSITION SUMMARYThe Budget Analyst/Sr.
Accountant is responsible for annual budget building, forecasting,
reporting and analysis. Uses critical thinking and strong
analytical skills to make recommendations to further refine the
College's budget and forecast accuracy. The Budget Analyst/Sr.
Accountant will also provide accounting, analytical and support
functions in the Business Office with direct support within the
areas of grants and fixed assets.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable

functions.Essential Functions StatementResponsible for the design,
implementation, maintenance and control of the College's operating
budget and budget process. Formulates budgetary processes,
procedures and policies in coordination with the Chief Operating
Officer and Associate VP for Finance.Works with College
administrators and budget managers to provide information and
training on budget processes, planning, reporting and
forecasting.Extensively utilizes databases and spreadsheets for
data gathering, verifying, processing and analyzing budgets.Uses
enrollment and financial aid data and trends to refine, analyze and
forecast net tuition and fees revenue.Assists the Chief Operating
Officer with quarterly forecasts and other materials for the Board
of Regents.Prepares journal entries, posts transactions and
completes reconciliations in more complicated accounting and
administrative areas as needed and provides assistance to other
departments on campus.Performs and oversees special projects for
management such as ratio and trend analyses and surveys.Responsible
for grant accounting for the College. Reconciles all grant
expenses, reviews grant proposals from a financial perspective,
assists grantees as needed, maintains all federal logins, submits
required reporting and completes year-end entries and
reconciliations.Manages the College fixed asset records and
processes all fixed asset accounting transactions.Maintains regular
contact with campus departments to obtain information and/or to
correct transactions.Keeps management informed of area activities
and of any significant problems.Assists accounting personnel as
needed and act as backup to other Business Office staff as
necessary.Assist with the gathering and preparation of work papers
for the annual external audit.Supports the mission and vision of

Loras College.Education: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3-5
years of data and/or budget analysis experience. CPA and/or
previous experience working in higher education is preferred.SKILLS
& ABILITIESOther Requirements: Advanced user of Microsoft Office
Suite with emphasis in Excel and Word. Able to use Microsoft
Outlook. Technical knowledge of accounting concepts, practices,
procedures and financial reports. Understanding of related
regulations, statutes, and filing requirements. Knowledge of
related computer applications. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and
